Halloween Party Supplies in the UAE: The Cups, Tissue and Portion Cups That Keep the Table Running

by Kevin Millet 28 Oct 2026 0 Comments

Ask anyone who has hosted a Halloween party in the UAE what ran out first and the answer is almost never the sweets. It's cups. Napkins go next, usually around the time the pizza arrives.

This year Halloween lands on a Saturday, 31 October, so expect the full spread: compound trick-or-treat routes, office parties moved to the Friday before, class gatherings, and the costume dinners that run late. The decorations take care of themselves. What catches hosts out is the dull stuff, and this guide is about that. Quantities first, then what to buy, then how to lay it out so people can actually find things.

Work out the numbers before the theme

Three drinks a guest is a fair estimate for an evening of about three hours. Children get through more than you'd think, and half-finished cups get abandoned on every flat surface in the house. Add around 15 per cent on top of your confirmed list, because someone always brings a friend.

The maths is quick. A box of 1,000 cups at three per guest covers about 330 people. That's why the Hotpack Webstore cup packs make most sense for the bigger events: a building's community party, an office floor, a school year group, a large family gathering. If you're hosting twelve, share a box with a neighbour.

One more figure worth settling now is how many serving points you'll run. One drinks table means one queue. Two tables roughly halves the wait.

Cups: the size depends on who's drinking

The white plastic cups come in 5oz, 6oz and 7oz, and they end up doing different jobs.

The 5oz white plastic drinking cup, 1,000 pieces is for tasting. Think shot-sized mocktails, a splash of juice for a toddler, a sampling table where guests try three punches before picking one. The 6oz cup suits children's punch and the second round, when nobody wants a full glass. The 7oz cup is the workhorse for juice, water and mocktails, and it's the one you'll open first.

White helps more than you'd expect. It's a blank surface, so children can draw ghost faces on it with a marker while they wait for the games to start, and it lets orange and green drinks do the colour work. One caution: check each product page for the temperature range before you plan anything hot.

Tissue: black, red and green

A Halloween table doesn't need much colour to read as Halloween. Black does most of it.

The Soft n Cool V Fold Tissue, 20 x 23 cm, 3,000 pieces in black is the one to start with. Set against white cups and an orange dish, it looks deliberate without trying. The red version, 150 pieces x 20 packets is warmer and sits well on the dessert table. The green, 1 ply, 3,000 pieces has a slime-and-monsters look that children love and that goes well beside black.

V fold sheets are made for dispensers, so guests take one at a time instead of grabbing a fistful. Put a dispenser at the drinks station, the savoury table and the dessert table and the crowd spreads out by itself. Or skip the dispenser and tuck a sheet under each cup, or wrap one round a slice of pizza.

Allow three to four sheets a guest across the evening. A single 3,000-piece carton then covers somewhere between 750 and 1,000 people, which means most hosts need one colour for function and a second purely for looks.

Portion cups for dips and sweets

Shared bowls are where parties go wrong. Somebody double-dips, the bowl empties, the host spends the evening refilling it.

Small lidded cups fix that. The black base portion cup, 60 ml and its clear lids for 45, 60 and 80 ml cups, 2,500 pieces suit the theme straight away. Fill them with ketchup "blood", guacamole "monster dip", sprinkles or candy corn, snap on the lid, and each guest picks up their own. For anything that needs warming first, such as melted chocolate or cheese sauce, there's the microwave portion cup with lid, 60 ml, 1,000 pieces. Read the listing for the microwave guidance before you rely on it.

Plan on two to three per guest. People tend to take one dip and one sweet, and then come back for another sweet.

Lay the table out in zones

A table arranged by theme looks good in photographs and works badly in practice. Arrange it by job instead.

Drinks go in one place: cups, a jug or dispenser, a bin within reach. Savoury food goes in another, with tissue and portion cups beside it. Desserts get their own stack of tissue. Three zones spread the crowd, shorten every queue and make restocking obvious, since each zone only needs a handful of things and whoever is looking after it can see what's low.

If you're outdoors, which is common in UAE compounds once the evenings cool, keep cups and tissue in the shade and the packets sealed until you need them. Light items blow away. A weighted tray or a covered dispenser solves it.

Don't forget the end of the night

Nobody plans the cleanup, and it's the part guests notice least and hosts remember most. Put a bin at the exit of each zone rather than one in the corner, plus a second beside the drinks table, where most of the rubbish is made. One bin bag per 25 to 30 guests is a reasonable starting point. If people drop their cups on the way out, you've halved your work.

Order this week

With 31 October on a Saturday, orders placed now leave time for delivery and a trial setup before the day. Cups and tissue are the two things you can't improvise at 6 pm, and the pack sizes mean one order covers the whole event.

Frequently asked questions

How many cups do I need for a Halloween party? Two to three per guest for a three-hour party, plus about 15 per cent for extra guests and spills.

Which cup size is best for children? The 5oz and 6oz sizes. They hold less, so they spill less and waste less. The 7oz works for adults and older children.

Which tissue colours suit a Halloween table? Black and red are the classic pair. Green adds a monster-slime note that works for children's parties.

What do I use portion cups for at a party? Dips, sauces, sprinkles and sweets, served individually so there's no shared bowl.

Are these suitable for large events? Yes. The cups, tissue and lids are sold in wholesale-size packs, which suits community events, offices, schools and big family gatherings.
